Teaching students to use AI appropriately·       
  • Developing and discussing Academic Integrity, specifically regarding AI (another workshop is dedicated entirely to creation of policy and syllabus language)·      
  • Creating projects and assignments that require student work:
           o   Emphasize process, not product, including feedback and revision loops--students use AI as part of the process
           o   Focus on analysis, critical thinking, creativity, and application of concepts to personal/otherwise unique situations
           o   Include oral presentations and discussions·      
  • Teaching students to use AI appropriately to do work in the world, including brainstorming and creating first drafts of writing, images, videos, music, and coding

Using AI to improve efficiency and streamline work·      
  • Using AI tutoring for students (another workshop is dedicated entirely to this)·      
  • Creation and comparison of drafts of lesson plans, assignments, exams, rubrics and other materials, all with opportunities for differentiation using           
           o   ChatGPT,           
           o   Gemini,           
           o   Claude,
           o   Khanmigo, and
           o   MagicSchool·      
  • Learning to use AI to do work in the world, including brainstorming and creating first drafts of writing, images, videos, music, and coding

Learning to use AI effectively and responsibly·      
  • NEVER submit private student data or other propriety data in prompts
  • Always remember that AI is a tool, not a solution·      
  • Apply Critical Thinking to outputs
           o   Check accuracy
           o   Check for bias
           o   Check logic and analysis·      
  • Cite output from AI as such·      
  • As with the Internet (and all things), use AI ethically
